Dr. Elly Farmer

Elly is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist who works part-time for the NSPCC, where she assesses and treats young people with sexually abusive behaviour, and provides psychological consultation to NSPCC teams regarding childhood sexual abuse. She is also involved in the NSPCC's emerging work on sexual bullying in schools. Elly works therapeutically with adults with substance misuse problems, with a focus on the resolution of trauma. Her work also includes writing and research, she has co-developed a therapy manual, and is contributing to books regarding offending, substance misuse and trauma. Fields in which Elly has previously worked include children and adolescent mental health, youth offending (in HMP/YOI Feltham) and adult trauma (predominantly refugees).


Ola Akinlade BA, PG Diploma Psychotherapy, MA

Ola has 11 years experience of project management experience covering ESF, SRB EDRF funding, bid writing and budget management. He has worked for 10 years as a psychotherapist with Young people presenting mental health, drug and alcohol issues. He currently works as a Criminal Justice Manager and commissions transitional arrangements to address gang activity in boroughs.


Robin McGlashan

Robin is a social entrepreneur at heart. He founded Nu Start Community Enterprise with a key focus on inspiring the young people from his community. He is currently a Director of the organisation and can be seen as someone who works on social issues and public sector projects, linking ideas with innovation fused with a business approach. He is also a Director of the Default Media Group and has many years experience within the music industry.


Tony Cealy

Tony has worked as an arts practitioner, trainer and facilitator for over 20 years with disadvantaged and disaffected groups locally, regionally, nationally, in Europe and increasingly Internationally using drama & theatre methods for workshops projects and learning programmes in project delivery, development and management, particularly in the areas of criminal justice, community arts, mental health, local authority, education and social services.

He undertakes regular contracts for The British Council (Nicaragua, Australia, Hawaii, Bolivia, Slovenia, Jamaica, Canada, India, Africa, and Spain) and was recently commissioned by the Arts Alliance, the National Body for Arts in Criminal Justice and Social Inclusion to run a series of train the trainer training programmes for educators.

He develops Nu Start's multimedia based projects and programmes that explore the impact of behaviour on adults & young people and people at risk, their families and others. He uses drama and theatre to encourage self-awareness and to assist individuals in exploring the idea of change and the impact that it may have on their lives.


Delroy E. Ettienne BSc (Hons)

Delroy has been working in the social care field for over 15 years and is currently a Trustee of Nu Start Community Enterprise. He has worked across all sectors, including young people, substance misuse, criminal justice, housing, mental health and BME provisions. He has worked across all levels from practitioner, management and commissioner for a number of organisations.
